Photography Course Starting Soon!
06th March 2014
Hi Everyone,

What a mad crazy week its been! This day last week I was at work wondering when the Aurora Borealis - The Northern Lights was going to appear again as it had been so quiet of late. Little did I know what as in store for me that same evening.

Due to the phenomenal success of my images from last Thursday nights massive Aurora Borealis display, I have been asked by many of you to run a photography course in the use of a DSLR camera.

I will be putting this course on in Inishowen in the next few weeks and will be showing you the skills for landscapes, long exposures, shooting in low light, using speedlights, etc...... we will be giving you loads of hands on experience on how to use your digital camera and will be showing techniques that will drastically improve your photography.

If its even just to take photos of your family and friends or maybe you prefer beautiful landscapes or you long to know how to achieve that smokey dream effect on streams and waterfalls........ or even you want to shoot the Aurora Borealis :)

Please feel free to share this with your family and friends and remember give our page a wee like as well

Anybody that is interested either send us a PM or email us on info@photosfromireland.com for more details

Training will be given by myself. You have seen the images yourself and how they have gone viral, now learn the techniques to do the same yourself.

Aurora Borealis display over Inishowen, Co. Donegal
28th February 2014
Last night the amazing Aurora Borealis - The Northern Lights was seen over Co. Donegal and in particular over the Inishowen Penninsula.

The Aurora was the strongest display I have seen with curtains of light and colours shooting upwards into the Donegal sky.

For two years my dream was to capture this display over the local beauty spot known as, "The Castles" at Carrickabraghy castle ruins in the stunning landscape of the Isle of Doagh in Clonmany.

It was a humbling experience to witness something so beautiful and yet powerful that mother nature could put on such an amazing sight.

My dream was finally realised when I got the perfect shots of the castle ruins with the Atlantic ocean crashing onto the shore line with Ireland's most northernly point Malin Head in the background.

I have am overwhelmed that I witnessed such a rare phenomenon, and even more so that I caught it on camera, not one but several stunning images from last night.

For many people this is on their bucket list to see before they die, very few will witness it, but for those of you that can't you now have that chance to see it every day hanging in your home or business. These make amazing gifts for someone special, and the actual prints that you receive are off the highest quality possible. Online does not do it justice.

Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights - St Patrick's Night
18th March 2013
There were some incredible Aurora displays over north and northwestern parts of Ireland on the night of Sunday 17th March 2013 as a result of a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on Sunday morning.

The solar blast led to amazing Northern Lights displays on St Patrick's night.

Chicago they colour their rivers green, in London and Manchester the dye their beer green, but in Ireland we were treated to green skies, along with reds, purples and a whole multitude.

To see some of our images that we took that night check out Saint Patrick's night - Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis

You can see what they look like printed, mounted and framed below.

Luckily I was down at Pollan beach in Ballyliffin, Clonmany, Inishowen, Co. Donegal that night from 8.00pm until 11.45pm hoping that it would appear. I was not to be dissappointed, the skies shortly after 9.30pm started clear and between the cloud cover I could catch a glimpse of the lights behind.

Most of the cloud cover eventually lifted and skies started to display one of the natural wonders of the world. An amazing sight to be seen that will never be forgotten.
